On May 4th 2019, The Vietnam – Japan Science and Technology Symposium 2019 (VJST2019), was successfully organized by The Vietnamese Academic Network in Japan (VANJ) and VNU Vietnam Japan University (VJU), in Hanoi, Vietnam.
VJST2019 was initiated as a multidisciplinary platform for science and technology exchange between Vietnam and Japan, aiming to annually bring together the scientists of the two countries to share and discuss their most up-to-date researches as well as to expand and strengthen their academic networks. VJST2019 welcomed more than 350 researchers from not only Vietnam and Japan but also other countries and territories including United States of America, Russia, Singapore, Malaysia, etc.. VJST2019 was constructed for 1 plenary session followed by 9 scientific tracks with corresponding poster sessions. The scope of VJST was categorized into various aspects of science and technology, including AI – ICT – IoT – Robotic, Bio-medical, Energy – Power Network, Climate Change, Environmentals, Green Chemistry, Materials Science, Economics, and Infrastructures, with the over theme of Towards Sustainable Development.
VJST2019 was honored to welcome the attendance of Prof. Furuta Motoo, the Rector of VNU Vietnam Japan University; Prof. Masaaki Tanaka, the Director of Center for Spintronics Research Network of The University of Tokyo; Dr. Nguyen Thi Anh Thu, Director of VNU Asia Research Center, 4 top-leader scientists in the plenary session, 58 keynote and invited speakers in 16 scientific sessions, and many other researchers, students, sponsors and visitors.
With the growing of the community of Vietnamese researchers and experts in Japan in recent years, The Vietnamese Academic Network in Japan (VANJ) hope to continue promoting Vietnam – Japan relation in science and technology via international collaborations. VJST2019 was one among many events that VANJ organized in May 2019 in Hanoi. The success of VJST2019 is a contribution of VANJ in creating a platform which can enable active and constant exchanges and collaborations in education, science and technology between Japan and Vietnam.
