COVID19 and TB are two respiratory diseases that require special attention within Vietnamese community in Japan. The Vietnamese community has the highest number of Tuberculosis (TB) cases amongst foreigners in Japan. Unlike COVID-19 that is an acute disease, some patients face difficulties in being diagnosed as TB and continue treatment until the completion that usually lasts for several months.
Due to the language constraints and barriers in accessing to Japanese medical facilities and services, Vietnamese people have encountered many difficulties in detecting and treating TB as well as updating information about COVID-19 prevention and vaccination in Japan.
As an effort to assist the Vietnamese community to understand about TB and access to the essential information of COVID-19 prevention, the Vietnam Academic Network in Japan (VANJ) co-organize with other partners including Y hoc cong dong group, the Research Institute of Tuberculosis (RIT), Japan Anti-Tuberculosis Association (JATA), the National Center for Global Health and Medicine (NCGM) to launch an online webinar “TB and COVID-19 prevention for Vietnamese living in Japan”. The media partner is TAIHEN Network.
This online session aims to bring useful information about TB prevention and care as well as COVID19 vaccine to all Vietnamese audiences in Japan. This will be a platform where you can interact directly with Japanese and Vietnamese doctors and experts in medical care and support to Vietnamese community in Japan.
