The Institute for Solid State Physics (ISSP), The University of Tokyo, is currently recruiting for several Project Researcher positions (fixed-term project staff).

2. Job Description:
– The successful candidate will conduct experimental or theoretical research in the field of condensed matter physics.
– Transfers, concurrent duties, or secondments may be assigned; however, in principle, such assignments will not be made without the candidate’s consent.
3. Salary:
– Approximately 4.3 million yen/year (~¥430万円)
4. Contract Duration:
– 2 years (in principle, non-renewable)
5. Qualifications and Requirements:
– A Ph.D. or equivalent degree must have been obtained within approximately five years prior to the employment start date.
– Applicants must contact an ISSP faculty member (professor or associate professor) in advance and prepare a research plan with their approval.
6. Work Locations:
– Institute for Solid State Physics (ISSP), The University of Tokyo – Kashiwa Campus (Tokyo)
– Neutron Science Laboratory (Tokai, Ibaraki Prefecture)
– Synchrotron Radiation Lab. (in SPring-8), Laser and Synchrotron Research Center (Sayo-gun, Hyogo Prefecture)
– Synchrotron Radiation Sendai Office, The University of Tokyo (Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture)
7. Start Date:
– From April 1, 2026 to the end of June 2026, depending on assignment.
